Saturday's Question: What's Your Take on Wedding Trends?

Every Saturday I'll feature a question and ask you lovely readers to weigh in. Do you have a dilemma? E-mail your question to jns721@gmail.com, and a link to your blog or website if you have one, and will post it!

It seems the color blue and purple is a trend in the wedding world lately. When planning your wedding, do you take trends into consideration or do you purposefully steer clear of them?

Wedding trends are important to guide every bride-to-be on their wedding plans. But what matters most is the couples' personal thought and ideas of how they want their wedding to be perfect!

I believe that your wedding day should be done your own special day. Don't follow a passing trend. If you like blue or like purple, great, but if you don't, don't choose these colors just because it is the in color this season. Evaluate trends but then choose whatever colors you love.

I think it's great to look and see what is trendy for ideas but at the end of the day you want to go with colors that you love and that compliment your skin tones

I like blue and purple for gowns and accents but be careful when using these colors as part of your lighting plan.

I help run a wedding event venue in Birmingham and am particularly interested in the lighting set up for wedding receptions. Be careful if you use blue accent lights. they can make the skin colors look anemic and are not at all flattering. Magenta, red, orange and other warm colors look better as light.

Love all the comments! Thanks for weighing in everyone. And great point Tom, I never would have thought about the lighting issue.
