Real Wedding: Kristle and Mike - Eco-elegance in Quebec

Every bride and groom has a different story to tell. Some stories are whimsical, some are serious, some are elegant, but in the case of Kristle and Mike, their story is about hosting a memorable and elegant event while celebrating in an eco-friendly way. It's hard not to admire these two. In lieu of shower gifts, they encouraged guests to donate to Project Tanzania, their own personal creation which aimed to help Tanzanian children by building healthy futures.

Their wedding was held at the beautiful Fairmont Le Château Frontenac in Quebec City. Although this was a destination wedding, the guest list was kept to a minimum and details weren't spared when it came to keeping things green. For instance, the flowers were sourced from a local florist and were pesticide free.

They opted to serve a vegan cake, "beautifully made with certified organic and Fair Trade ingredients by a sustainable boutique bakery."

Paper products used were made from 100% post-consumer recycled content and printed with soy-based inks.

The wedding dress was re-purposed and carried lasting sentimental value with it. It was not only worn by the bride's mother on her wedding day, but by the bride's godmother as well! It was then altered to match Kristle's own personal style.

Rather than have a guest book, they took advantage of a white board which guests could write personal messages on and then take a snapshot of with a digital camera.

Thank you for sharing your wedding us us, Kristle and Mike! Many happy wishes to you both!

What a great wedding. Congrats to the couple for remembering others on a day that many people keep for themselves. That dress is stunning! Although it went through generations, the style is timeless! Thanks for posting this..

What a beautiful wedding. I really, really, really love the idea of writing a message on the white board and then having a picture taken :) What an amazing, fun and creative twist on a wishing tree!!

What a lovely wedding! My best wishes to Kristle and Mike. I think it's a great idea to have such eco-friendly wedding. It seems a couple is not only thinking about great wedding party but about the rest of the world so to say. It is great there are a lot of opportunities to make environmentally friendly wedding: a handed-down dress, recycled paper product, probably the engagement ring contain eco-friendly diamond also.

Like the idea of charity for African children.
