Forgo the photographer?

I really, really like what The Wedding Lens has created here. Rather than your typical online album, they've done two things that I thought were quite unique: one, their albums are created specifically for weddings and two, they've made it easier for all your guests to upload their photos into one spot. I also like the fact that you can sort photos by photographer, so if you just want to see which photos were taken by your crazy uncle Jim, you can do that. A premium album, which costs $49.95 a year, gives you a password protected album and lets you download and save your photos in full resolution. There is also a free album option.

This is a great way to forgo the disposable cameras and is ultimately more eco-friendly too!

I'm sure this title isn't what you meant. We all know that 4,000 snapshots by friends half toasted or looking over Auntie M's head is no replacement for a professional photographer. Now, a videographer, those we can forgo! ;)

You make a very good point and of course, nothing compares to a real professional photographer, but it might be a viable option for those who can't afford a photographer.

I like the idea but why not have both!

I love this idea, Jennifer. I LOATHE disposable cameras at each table--they are wasteful, and out of all the photos, more than half are terrible.

Of course I still think a pro photog, even an inexpensive, possibly newbie to the industry to keep costs low, is essential to capture the day.

Great find! Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for all your comments! Christine, I have to agree. I think it makes most sense to have both.

And Aletha - I'm so glad you aren't on board the whole disposable camera trend!
