Wishpot!

Not too long ago I was asked to be a wedding expert on Wishpot.com and I have to admit, I wanted to try it out before I actually posted about it here. To fill you in, Wishpot is basically a site that allows you to create registries, wish, and gift lists with anything you find on the web. It completely gets my thumbs up! I have been having a blast on the site and so far I've created three different wish lists: the Green Kitchen Registry, Eco Gifts to Help Relax & Revitalize, and Misc. Stuff that is just plain cool! The one problem with this site is that I just keep finding more stuff I want! For you brides out there, it's really a great way to create a registry without being limited to just a few stores.

I love wishpot! I just used it to create a "birthday registry" and it was so fun, I can't wait to use it for when I register for my wedding. I love that when a person buys a gift they can have the purchase marked as a "secret" from me so I can't registry stalk and ruin the surprise! (I guess I could always create a fake account, but I am not that curious!)

I would like to pursue this idea for my registry but part of me wonders if it seems a little...greedy? I don't want it to appear that there were so many things I want that I couldn't limit it to a few stores...?

I used thethingsiwant.com. I don't think it looks greedy because people see a single registry list versus having ten different stores that you have registries at but each one only has a handful of things I on it. If any wants any other green registry ideas I did a whole post about this on my blog.

Jenna - that is very cool! I didn't know Wishpot could do that!

Stephanie - you have a good point, but I don't think it will seem greedy. Most people just want to get you something you want and if it comes from different stores, then that's okay.

N&J - I didn't know about thethingsiwant.com, but it seems very useful as well.

hey Jennifer- Thanks for being a great wedding expert! I am with the Wishpot team and I just wanted to let your readers know if they have any questions they can email me at christine@wishpot.com. I got this really nice email from one of our brides, Jenny- who tied the knot April 11th 2008. Allow me to share it: Jenny wrote, "Thank you very much! We had a wonderful wedding and everyone loved (and used!) our wishpot registry!" I thought it was awesome that she took the time to say thanks!
