Every Saturday I'll feature a question and ask you lovely readers to weigh in. Do you have a dilemma? E-mail your question to jns721@gmail.com, and a link to your blog or website if you have one, and will post it!
Is it okay to e-mail your wedding thank you cards or should they always be snail mailed? How would you react if you received an e-mailed thank you note for a gift you gave to a bride and groom?

It wouldn't bother me at all. Personally, I think it saves money and I love getting personal e-mails almost as much as I love getting mail. I think it's the saying thank you that's important - what's the "right" way to do it just has to do with wedding politics.
if it's between email or none, I'd say email, but unless the stamps are prohibitively expensive (say you live in Tokyo and your wedding was/family is in the US) then I'd say an email is no-go. To me, an email, even an e-card) doesn't show the same kind of effort as hand writing and addressing a proper thank you note.
Plus, a short note, on a small card is much more impressive looking than a short note on a big blank email page.
I wouldn't be offended personally. However it seems as though an email thank you is more appropriate for a small and/or informal event, where as snail mail is appropriate for a larger or more formal event.
Also, its nice to be able to have a keepsake, I keep any note I receive snail mail where as email I would eventually lose.
I personally love to get cards and mail.. but hey there are bigger fish to fry then worry. Send an email.. most of us don't even talk on the phone any more.
