Monday Health

Did you know that conventionally grown cotton uses more insecticides than any other single crop? Regardless of whether or not those chemicals exist once it's turned into clothing, the consequences of pesticide grown cotton have been heavy. For instance, pesticide contaminated runoff from cotton fields killed 240,000 fish in Alabama in 1995. It's also estimated that pesticides kill 67 million birds in the U.S. each year. If it has the power to kill animals, think about the workers of those cotton fields who are continually exposed to such pesticides.

So when you start shopping this holiday season, consider the environment and try to buy organic. A great place to start is Mission Playground, an online shop which offers great t-shirts for both guys and gals.
