Yummy Centerpieces!

This post was created for a reader who is looking for some inspiration on incorporating fruit into her wedding centerpieces, without it looking like a picnic. A very valid concern! First off, it's worth mentioning the best type of fruits to use are the kinds that will keep for a while. This will allow you to, one, purchase ahead of time, and two, give some to your guests to take home. Apples stored in the refrigerator will stay fresh for at least a month, while oranges, lemons, and other citrus can be stored at room temperature and will stay fresh for 2 weeks. Grapes are a little more tricky, but if stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator, they'll stay good for 2 weeks. Apples seemed to be a favorite, as they are easily used in other aspects of the wedding decor (see place cards above) and easily eaten too! I also wouldn't be afraid to incorporate other types of items within your centerpiece. The birdcage is just one example, but you could also scour thrift stores for vintage glass bottles and vases to fill with your favorite fruit. Personally, I really enjoy the monochromatic look, such as the lemons pictured above, but you could also mix and match colors too!
Does anyone else have any ideas on how to beautifully incorporate fruit into a wedding?
