I try to eat organic as much...I'm the same way! I try to eat organic as much as possible but my budget sometimes won't allow it. So I never buy bananas or any fruit, vegetable or legume that has a hard shell/skin on the outside. To me it seems like a little bit of extra protection from the chemicals.
