It's easy to assume that having an environmentally friendly wedding will only make things more complicated, but that couldn't be farther from the truth. Think of it this way: Less stuff = less waste. And less waste = less to worry about. And that makes for a happy planet. For instance, simplify things by picking out a few vintage vases and adorn your tables with locally grown or organic flowers. As you can see from the wedding above, it can look just as lovely, if not more so, than a big, floral centerpiece. And in this less than optimal economy, it won't cost as much either.

I absolutely adore this look. I have been thinking about doing this with my flowers and just had the idea of finding some color to go on the tables and this is it, and I had no idea until I opened your post.
Thank you for posting! :)
I'm hooked on patterned table linens right now. So unique! And I agree, the bad economy does open up for more thrifty and eco-friendly wedding planning. You would be amazed at the neat vases you can find at local thrift shops!
Also, I was rinsing out my jar of Classico vodka sauce after making dinner last night and thought, if I had only started collecting these a year ago we would almost have enough to serve cool mason jar cocktails at our reception!
I JUST found Green Wedding Shoes this afternoon and this is the very picture I added to my Tumblr! "A Backyard Wedding" is my inspiration for pretty much everything.
such pretty tables! and your words are wisdom could not ring more true. :)
