A Fruitful Wedding....Cake!

Here's an easy way to support organic farmers! Use organic fruit in your own wedding cake! Just like flowers, some fruits and vegetables thrive more during certain seasons, so here's a basic breakdown of which fruits will be most available during your wedding season.

Spring Wedding: Blackberries, Strawberries, Raspberries
Summer Wedding: Apricots, Blueberries, Cherries
Fall Wedding: Apples, Grapes, Pears, Pumpkins
Winter Wedding: Carrots, Oranges

Don't forget to purchase locally if you can. Visit Local Harvest to find an organic farm near you.

Ooh, our baker used fresh raspberries and strawberries from our local farmers for my cake. These look amazing--I wish I were a (good) baker :)
